This Privacy Policy explains how Buzlin Holdings Inc. (“Buzlin,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Buzlin website and apps (the “Platform”), whether as a customer, seller, or courier.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you give us

Category	Examples	Who this applies to
Account information	Name, email, phone number, password	Everyone
Order information	Delivery address, order contents, order history	Customers
Payment information	Payment method selection and transaction records. Your card number is entered directly with our payment processor and is not stored by Buzlin.	Customers
Seller application information	Business/personal details, government ID, business registration and tax documents, bank or PayPal details for payout	Sellers
Courier application information	Government ID, vehicle details, driver’s license and insurance (for motorized vehicles), background-check consent, bank or PayPal details for payout	Couriers
Communications	Messages you send through in-app chat or the Contact form, including any content you share in them	Everyone

1.2 Information we collect automatically

Category	Details
Approximate location	We use your IP address (via a third-party IP-geolocation lookup) to detect your country and show you relevant shops and pricing by default.
Delivery location	The delivery address / map point you set for an order.
Courier location	While you are online and available for deliveries in the Buzlin Courier app, we collect your device’s location on an ongoing basis so we can assign and route nearby deliveries to you. We stop collecting your location when you go offline.
Device & usage information	Device type, operating system, app version, and general usage/interaction data needed to operate and troubleshoot the Platform.

Courier location tracking is the most sensitive data practice on the Platform and deserves a prominent, plain-language explanation inside the courier app itself (not just this policy) — both Apple and Google’s app review teams look specifically for this, and Apple additionally requires the iOS location permission prompt text to describe the actual use accurately.

2. How We Use Information

To create and maintain your account, and to let you order from, sell on, or deliver for Buzlin;
To process orders and payments, and to communicate with you about them;
To connect customers, sellers, and couriers for the purpose of completing an order (for example, sharing your delivery address with the courier assigned to your order, and your name/contact info with the seller fulfilling it);
To review seller and courier applications, including verifying submitted identification and, where applicable, requesting a background check;
To provide customer support and respond to your messages;
To send you service communications (order updates, account notices) and, where you’ve opted in, product updates or promotions;
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
To comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Platform:

With sellers and couriers, to fulfill and deliver your order (e.g., your delivery address and order contents are shared with the seller and the courier assigned to that order);
With payment processors (which may include Stripe, PayPal, Flutterwave, or other providers depending on your region) to process transactions and payouts;
With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including SMS and email delivery, push notifications, cloud hosting and storage, and mapping/geocoding — under contractual obligations to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide us;
With a background-check provider, where a courier applicant has consented, for the purpose of that check [name the provider once integrated];
For legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Buzlin, our users, or the public; and
In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your information.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

Payments: Stripe, PayPal, Flutterwave, and other regional payment processors
SMS: Twilio / Vonage
Email: SendGrid
Push notifications: Firebase
Maps & location: Google Maps; IP-based country detection via a third-party geolocation lookup
Cloud storage: Amazon Web Services (S3)

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions like keeping you signed in and remembering your language and region. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as necessary to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. When you delete your account, it is deactivated and removed from active use; we may retain certain records for a limited period as described above rather than erasing them immediately.

This reflects how account deletion actually works today (a soft-delete with no scheduled purge afterward) — it does not currently result in prompt, full erasure of personal data. If you want to make a stronger erasure claim, that requires building a real data-purge process first; don’t publish a stronger promise than the product currently keeps.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. This may include rights under the EU/UK GDPR, Canada’s PIPEDA, California’s CCPA/CPRA, Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019, and Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act 2022, among others.

Access & correction: update most of your information directly in your account settings, or contact us for anything you can’t change yourself.
Deletion: request account deletion at any time — self-service in the Buzlin app under Profile settings, or by contacting support@buzlinshop.com.
Portability: where applicable law grants you this right, contact us and we will provide your information in a portable format.

Portability is currently a manual, support-handled process, not a self-service export button — word it that way rather than implying a download feature exists.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@buzlin.ca. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined by California law. Buzlin does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your California rights, contact us at support@buzlinshop.com.

9. International Data Transfers

Buzlin operates across multiple countries, and the third-party service providers described in Section 4 may process information in countries other than your own, including [confirm: Canada / United States / others]. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps intended to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

10. Children’s Privacy

Buzlin is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you (such as by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect.

13. Contact Us
